GET AUDITION READY WORKSHOP LONDON

2 DAY WORKSHOP, COVERING AUDITION TECHNIQUE, PREPARATION & CASTING SIMULATION

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

How do I succeed in auditions?

What are they looking for?!

What is my casting type?

I don’t want to be typecast so how does it relate to finding my casting type?

How do I create my own brand and do I really have to do this?

These are some of the questions that actors rightly ask. So what are the answers?

The Actors Door Studio has designed intensive 2 day Casting Workshops, for actors who want to be in the front seat of the casting game.

In addition, to addressing concerns on casting practice and marketing, the workshop will focus on teaching actors how to actively exercise and extend their auditioning skills, in order to maximise opportunities in the industry.

To give attendees maximum benefit of the workshop, it is run over 2 consecutive weekend afternoons at our studio in London.

On the first day, attendees will be taken through a mostly theoretical component in which they will learn about the audition process.

  • Casting typologies and maximising potential

DAY 2: PRACTICE/AUDITION SIMULATION DAY

The second component of the workshop is mostly practical and is designed to simulate the audition process. A few days prior to the second workshop day, attendees will be sent out short audition sides which they must prepare for Day 2. This preparation work is aimed at helping attendees put into practice what they have learned on Day 1.

In Day 2, you will have the chance to perform your piece on camera in front of the groupand later, workshop your performance under the instruction of the teacher.

After the audition, we will send you your filmed performance which you can use as part of your filmed self tape portfolio.

The workshop is open to all.

There are no specific acting requirements for the workshop other than at least basic acting knowledge/experience.

WHY ATTEND CASTING WORKSHOPS:

An audition or a casting is an essential part to an actor getting a role. During the audition, casting directors and directors test the actor’s skills in acting, as well as their ability to embody the character they are casting for. As a result, a great deal rests on a successful audition.

Auditioning, much like interviewing for a new job, requires preparationstress managementknowledge of auditioning techniques; all these on top of your screen acting skills. Whilst screen acting classes and courses develop your acting abilities on camera, and help nurture your talents in on-screen performance, they often do not teach crucial skills and techniques required for successful casting.

It is for this specific reason that we have developed this casting workshop; to get actors audition ready.

Limited places are available for this workshop!
