Come and see our students transform themselves!
Students of the Advanced and Acting Technique 2 classes have been busily preparing for this year’s Spoon River & Monologue Night.
What are the Spoon Rivers?
What is the Spoon River Anthology
The Spoon River Anthology is a collection of poems written by Edgar Lee Masters. They are short but powerful pieces of free verse that explore character in the context of death. They comprise the final stages of the Advanced course in the Meisner Technique and bring together everything our students have been working on over the last 2 years.
The characters you see, are dead. The ‘pinch’, the vehement call and cry of the people or of a person they have left behind, (given by a chosen audience member), awakens them from their ‘purgatoric’ slumber and becomes the impetus for them to deliver their last and final ‘punch’ to the world.
As you watch these, we invite to think of your Spoon River ‘punch’. Which ‘pinch’ would awaken you from your death, and what would be your ‘punch’ if you were to die, today?
Payments: Paypal, Credit Card or Debit Card.
Venue: Due to the venue being licensed premises, this event is an 18’s Plus event.
If you are unable to attend the performance, but would like to still see it, you are invited to the dress rehearsal which will be held on Friday 27th July @2pm. This will be a free event.
We hope to see you there!
We are thrilled to announce that the event has now sold out! If you are an Actors Door Studio student however, you can still watch the dress rehearsal for the event.
